I was invited to a marriage seminar on 21/02/2015 and was happy to attend as i felt i also needed a revival and to be reminded of the little details of marriage. I must admit i learned a lot of things especially coming from Christian Old Women who stood the test of times. I was however shocked to see my name as a guest speaker and weirdly the last on the list to speak and i panicked oh God please help me what will I say I am very young and still fresh/ rather new to the field of marriage but because I serve a Mighty God I found myself speaking. I opened the book of Ecclesiastes 4:12 "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken" Let's us all agree that marriage was created by God for enjoyment or for company the word says in Genesis God after giving Adam an activity to name all animals He (God) noticed that Adam was still lonely hence Eve was created. So Marriage is a sacred covenant that God has His best interest at heart so verse 12 of Ecclesiastes reminds every couple taking this step of uniting in Holy Matrimony to invite God to be the 3 cord of the strand because if He is there He strengthens the relationship. In addition to this we will look at John 2:1-3 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:2
And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
This scripture reminds me of a sermon i received that was an eye-opener in every marriage no matter how old the union is there will come a time when the wine will be finished what is important as husband and wife is to know who to call when the wine is finished. If you understand that every thing that is created or manufactured should it give you factory fault and you find the manual that came with it no helpful there are always contact numbers written that you can call and take it back to the manufacturer just like marriage if you have invited God the Creator as the third strand to the cord you will know that when the wine is finished you will run boldly to Him and say Master the wine is finished and He will (read John 2:7
Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.8
And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.9
When
the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and
knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;)
the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
Only He can restore, only He can turn your pure water into a sweet wine that you will enjoy. If you go down to verse 11 of John 2 you will read that this was Jesus's first miracle to perform meaning that God values and honors this covenant of Marriage and loves it so dearly that He gave us solution for it, Spouses shouldn't try to change one another only God can change one's character, only God can bring sweet wine into any marriage and remove the bitter wine but only if you know who is the creator of marriages and when the going gets tough who to run to and most importantly what to say. Divorce was created by the devil and should you have problems and the first thing that comes to mind is where to find the best divorce lawyer you are lost and conforming to the standards of this world. There is nothing too difficult for God even that head of the house you have in your home that is a headache only God can change him, call on Him. He is always available, He wouldn't have use a strong word as HATE when it comes to divorce if He didn't love and care for our marriages but we always want an easy way out. I was reminded when i was listening to another sermon that most women and men of God have spouse challenges not that you married the wrong man or woman but because to get to you satan has to utilize the one you love dearly, bearing in mind that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, your spouse is not a demon but he/she is used to destroy the ministry God has for you because there are many powerful men and women of God that their power can be even greater should their spouse join them but cause the devil is aware that such a power couple can cripple the kingdom of darkness he lures one partner away. Stand firm and do not stop interceding for your marriage, i only know what is tormenting me i do not know yours maybe it looks impossible to restore with the naked eye but God says TRY me the creator or founder of marriages.
